Technology

We are very excited to offer CEREC technology, which we deliver to our patients on a daily basis. Dr. Sorrento and his staff continue to spend countless hours training and perfecting this new digital artform.

What is CEREC Technology?
CEREC is an acronym for Chairside Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. CEREC technology can provide you with any number of porcelain restorations in just minutes, rather than having to wait weeks and return to the dentist office multiple times.

At the moment, almost everyone has a filling that is made of metal or some other type of material that doesn't match the color of the rest of your teeth, and may need to be replaced. CEREC provides you with the option of having your next dental restoration permanently corrected in just one visit to our office.

Cerec Before and AfterDuring a CEREC dental restoration, your teeth will be examined to determine what treatment will best provide you with the results you need. If a CEREC restoration is recommended, your tooth will be prepared for the restoration you are receiving and an optical impression of your tooth will be made. This high-resolution optical impression will be used to create a ceramic restoration that perfectly fits your tooth and matches the rest of your teeth.

In about 15 minutes, the CEREC milling machine will sculpt your ceramic restoration from a block of porcelain. Once the restoration has been tested for proper fit and so that it does not interfere with your bite, it is permanently bonded to your tooth. The end result is a ceramic restoration that looks and feels just like your natural teeth.

CEREC technology can be used to create inlays, onlays, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, partial crowns and veneers. Visit www.cerecstories.com for more info.
